The observant among you may have noticed a slight lack of updates since January. Progress on the new book hasn’t stalled completely, but it has for a while been affected by other events. Some things have happened this year that were truly awful, almost too painful to think about, though I might talk or write about them in the future. For now though, I want to share one huge, positive piece of news, that’s been the largest cause of delays on Seeds of Magic.
As I write this, I am in a limbo, of sorts. In January, my wife and I made the decision to pick up our lives on the south coast of sunny England, and move it, our pets, and ourselves, over a thousand miles by sea and road to Catalunya. The sale of our Southampton house will be completed this Friday 6th September (gods, let it be so), which will finally allow us to finalise the purchase of our new house. The new place is incredible, with plenty of space for my projects, though the house itself needs quite a bit of work.
At the moment, we’re in neither, staying comfortably in the mountain home of my sogra, my mother-in-law. If you’re jealous of my move to drier climes, please be assured that Catalunya is currently doing it’s best to make me me feel at home.
Honestly, this feels like a pause. The first chance in seven months that I’ve had a chance to take a breath. the perfect time to start writing again, both the book and these updates. There’s a lot of work to come, but if we survived the year so far, we can handle this.
